Mrs. Cecilia A. Welbes' Obituary
Mrs. Cecilia A. Welbes, age 76, passed away Friday afternoon, February 28, 2014, in Muskegon. She was born August 23, 1937 to Donald J. and Ann K. (Ribesky) Kelley in Muskegon, and was a lifelong resident. She worked as an L.P.N. at Mercy Hospital for 25 years, retiring in 1995, and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Mrs. Welbes was a life-time member of the Altar Society at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a member of the Altar Society at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and the First Catholic Ladies Slovak Union. On August 16, 1958 she married Kenneth Welbes, and he preceded her in death on January 2, 2004. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Kathleen (James) Carroll of Muskegon, Claudia (Michelle Snyder) Welbes of Ferndale, Kevin (Monica) Welbes-Godin of Toronto; 8 grandchildren, Joshua Welbes, Naomi Holtkamp, Andrew Welbes, Morgan Carroll, Erin Carroll, Solana Godin, Liam Snyder-Welbes, and Sophie Godin. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Patrick Kelley. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday March 4th at 12:00 noon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Muskegon. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
