Cecilia Josephine Secord's Obituary
Mrs. Cecilia Josephine Secord, age 90, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at a local nursing home. She was born October 4, 1918 in Muskegon to William and Elizabeth (Smith) Beyrle and lived in the area her entire life. On July 29, 1939, she married Herman Secord in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on May 23, 2004. Mrs. Secord was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and was also active in the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court #599. She enjoyed embroidery, cooking and baking. SURVIVORS include her children, Betty (Donald) Duram, Joseph Secord, George (Helene) Secord all of Muskegon, Theresa Secord of Coxcreek, KY, James (Susan) Secord, Charles (Terri) Secord both of Muskegon; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jane Beyrle, Elna Secord, and Josephine Demler. She was also preceded in death by her son, Philip Secord, her daughter, Patricia Carlson, 5 brothers and 1 sister. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 10:00 AM Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson as celebrant and the Rev. Fr. Mike Cillibraise as concelebrant. INTERMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION with the Secord family will be one hour prior to the Mass, 9-10 AM Saturday at the church.
