Charlene Rae Basch's Obituary
Charlene Rae Basch, age 78, passed away peacefully at home on May 2, 2017 in Muskegon. She was born on December 3, 1938 to James “Angus” and Ruth (Goorman) Ward in Muskegon Heights. Char was affiliated with Dr. Martin Luther Lutheran Church. Charlene was proud to be a School Bus Driver for Mona Shores Public Schools for 25 years. She retired in 2000. Charlene was very passionate about cooking for her family and friends. She especially loved baking and spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. On August 9, 1958, she married Charles L. Basch and he preceded her in death on May 16, 2010. SURVIVORS include her son, Brent (Sandra) Basch of Canton, MI; 5 grandchildren, Sarah Marie (Charlie) Stonex, Tyler Scott Basch, Bryana Morgan Basch, Brooke Avery Basch and Sydney Lynn Cradlebaugh; 3 great-grandchildren, Natalie Rae, Luke Charles and Jack Dean Stonex; 2 sisters, Linda (Mike) McPhall, Debra Knight; sister-in-law, Jan Ward and daughter-in-law, Karla (Darrell) Cradlebaugh, along with her companion, her dog Teddy. Charlene was also preceded in death by her sons, Charles ”Chuckie” Basch in 2012 and Bryan Scott Basch in 1972 and brother, James Ward in 2016. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, May 5, 2017 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Pastor Michael Johnson officiating. VISITATION with the family will be held Thursday from 5 – 8 PM at the funeral home. MEMORIALS can be directed to the NSFD Canteen 450 or the American Heart Association.
