Mr. Charles Edgar Bickford's Obituary
Mr. Charles Edgar Bickford, age 87, passed away Saturday, August 25 at a local hospital. Charles was born in Saginaw, MI on October 23, 1924 to Floyd and Bertha (Carr) Bickford. He enlisted and served his country proudly in the United States Navy during WWII aboard the LST 672 in the Pacific Theatre; participating in the landing on Leyte, Luzon, Morotai, and Okinawa. Charles then worked as a machine operator for Teledyne Continental Motors for 30 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of Faith Bible Church. Charles enjoyed his cars, fishing, and listening to baseball games on the radio. He is survived by his daughter, Betty (Gary) Shackleford of Twin Lake, and son, David (Betty) Bickford of Muskegon; 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother , Loren Bickford of Delta, OH; sister, Carol Powers of Hart, MI; and several nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Thelma Eddy, and a brother, Norman Bickford. In accordance with his wishes, a private service will be held at Brookside Cemetery.
