Charles E. Carlson's Obituary
Charles Eugene Carlson, age 81, passed away in Muskegon, MI on Monday, May 30, 2022. He was born on March 16, 1941 in Cedar, Michigan, to his parents Carl and Evelyn (Wilsey) Carlson. He graduated from Muskegon Heights High School, and then went on to graduate from Muskegon Community College. Charles was a proud veteran of the United States Army and was even awarded a Marksman’s Badge during his service. After being Honorably Discharged, he spent many years working for Herman Miller, retiring in 2003. Charles loved spending time outdoors, whether it was hunting or participating in the local fishing derbies. He was a member of the Muskegon Heights Eagles, the Muskegon Elks, and the Muskegon Conservation Club. Charles will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Kathleen Claflin; step-daughter, Kristine Reeths; three grandchildren: Alex Claflin, Kyle (Nicole) Reeths, Christian (Kalynn) Reeths; three great-grandchildren: Isla, Wyatt, Evie; three sisters: Betty (James) Risden, Bonnie Wahr, Charlotte Sugar; and special friends, Charles Claflin and Janet Stefanich. No services will be taking place per his wishes, but he will be buried with his parents in Keswick Cemetery in Suttons Bay, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
