Mr. Charles "Charlie" E. Taylor's Obituary
Charles “Charlie” E. Taylor, age 81, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016. He was born on September 10, 1935 to Everett and Nellie (DeHorn) Taylor in Muskegon. On March 16, 1954, he married the former Corrine “Corky” Cooper, they spent 41 happy years together until her passing in 1996. Charlie started Taylor Tile and Ceramic, and worked as a tile setter for many years. He was an avid University of Michigan football and Detroit Red Wings fan. Charlie enjoyed golfing and bowling, once being named the Muskegon city bowling champion. Many people know him for being the founder of Charlie’s Garage. He will be missed by those who knew him. Charles is survived by his sons, Rick (Kim) Taylor, Randy (Kathie) Taylor, Tim (Doreen) Taylor; grandchildren, Traci (John), Marissa (Nolan), Kyle Lee (Hope), Kyle Michael, Coty (Brett), Justin; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Brooke, Ryan, Hunter, Preslee, Charlotte, Kruz; brother, Jim (Sue) Taylor; sister, Connie Christiansen; and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Corrine; and sister, Jean Hamilton. A FUNERAL SERVICE for Charles will take place on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231-798-1100) at 2:00 PM. VISITATION with the family will take place an hour prior to the service. To best honor Charlie’s memory please wear your U of M apparel to the service, GO BLUE!! Burial will take place in Mona View Cemetery.
