Charles E. "Chuck" Chick's Obituary
Charles E. “Chuck” Chick, age 84, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 23, 2024. He was born on May 4, 1940, to Edward and Elizabeth (Meyers) Chick in Muskegon, MI where he has remained a lifelong resident. He graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central class of 1958. Chuck continued his education at Muskegon Business College where he earned his associate’s degree in accounting. He dedicated 55 years to his career as an accountant working for various companies, but also owning and operating his own, Entrepreneur Inc. before retiring in 2019. On June 3, 1961, he married the love of his life, Edna Furst at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Together the couple cherished 60 years full of love, laughter and Sunday drives. Edna preceded him in death on November 24, 2021. In his earlier years, he was a board member of the National Association of Accountants. Chuck was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lakeside Aerie #3306. He was an avid golfer, gardener and musician. Chuck was skilled at playing the harmonica and was teaching himself how to play the guitar. Above all, his family was his world, and he cherished the moments spent with them. He will always be remembered as a wonderful dad, loving grandpa and great-grandpa, and amazing brother, who will truly be missed. He is survived by his three children, Ann (Jeff) Wisniewski, Paul Chick and Kathy (Joe) Locke; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Abraham; daughter-in-law, Michelle Chick; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Edna Chick; son, James Chick; and brother-in-law, Michael Abraham. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1110 Dykstra Rd., North Muskegon, MI 49445 with visitation one-hour prior. A Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7:00 PM on November 29, 2024, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
