Charles "Chuck" L. Keur's Obituary
Mr. Charles L. “Chuck” Keur, age 89, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 28, 2020. He was born on November 23, 1931 in Muskegon to Lambert and Jeannette (Hesse) Keur and resided in the area his entire life. Chuck was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country at the Panama Canal during the Korean War. He was formerly a member of First Christian Reformed Church and now of Grace Christian Reformed Church. He spent his entire career working in data processing for the SPX Corporation (formerly Sealed Power). Chuck volunteered his time doing building maintenance for his church and the Christian schools. He enjoyed a life-long interest in trains and firefighting. On May 14, 1954, he married the former Marjorie “Marty” VanderWiel, and she survives him together with two daughters, Barb (Jim) Malda and Mary (Dan) Brouwer; four grandchildren, Cathy (Clay) Burkhalter, David (Sara) Malda, Neil (Amy) Brouwer and Russell (Sarah) Brouwer; four great-grandchildren, Kirsten and Helen Burkhalter and Henry and Tess Malda; sister-in-law, Mae VanderWiel; and brother-in-law, Ray (Shirley) VanderWiel. A private family service will be held. Burial will take place in Laketon Township Cemetery. For a more lasting memorial you are asked to consider Muskegon Christian School or Harbor Hospice.
