Charles L. Gorton's Obituary
Charles L. Gorton, age 77, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024. He was born April 24, 1946, in Charlotte, MI to Emerson and Grace (Gilbert) Gorton. Charles was a U.S. Army Veteran and served his country during the Vietnam Era from 1967-1970. He was a photographer for 30 years working at the Grand Rapids Press and Allied Photo Lab where he specialized in black and white photo prints. Charles was a man of God and faithfully worshiped at his home church, Christian Fellowship Assembly in Allendale, MI. SURVIVORS include three sons: Bill (Jeanne) Gorton of Grand Rapids, Richard (Monica) Gorton of London, England, and Samuel (Megan) Gorton of North Carolina; four grandchildren: Ben (Billie), Samantha, Daniel, and Juna; great-granddaughter, Beatrice; and a sister, Carol Gorton of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and his second wife, Melody Gorton. A Memorial Service for Charles will be held 1:00 PM Friday, April 26, 2024 at Christian Fellowship Assembly (9930 64th Ave., Allendale, MI 49401). Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church. MEMORIALS to the Music Ministry of Christian Fellowship Assembly will be appreciated.
