Charles E. Kelly's Obituary
Mr. Charles E. Kelly, age 84, of Spring Lake passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Grand Pines Assisted Living Center. He was born 1940, in Battle Creek to Russell and Leora (VandenBerg). In 1962, he married Susan Rose in Muskegon.
Charles was a teacher, athletic director, coach, and driving instructor for over 30 years, he liked to stay busy! He also enjoyed traveling and camping. He will be missed very much.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Susan; two sons, Robert (Michelle) Kelly, Scott (Tracy) Kelly; four grandchildren: Anilese, Carson, Rachel and Erinn; brother, Robert “Bill” Kelly, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Maurice, Donald, Russell and James.
A memorial service will be held on 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444. Visitation we be 6-8 PM July 8, 2024, at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions in memory of Charles may be given to Harbor Hospice Foundation or Love in Action.
