Charles Delbert Knapp's Obituary
Charles “Gus†Delbert Knapp age 88 of Ravenna died, Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Crockery Creek Elder Care in Ravenna.
Gus was born on April 13, 1927 in Coopersville, MI to the late Charles A. and Bernice H. (Hathaway) Knapp. He married Lois Elaine (Baranowski) Knapp on April 8, 1949 in Conklin, MI. Gus served in the United States Army. Gus was a Muskegon County Deputy Sheriff from 1955 to 1984. Was member of the F.O.P. and Life Member of VFW in Coopersville.
Gus is survived by; 4 sons: Richard (Judy) Knapp of Pataskala, OH, David (Anita) Knapp of Ravenna, Tim (Patti) Knapp of Muskegon and Thomas (Deborah) Knapp of Mascoutah, IL; 1 daughter, Vicki (Larry) Lieffers of Ravenna; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchild. 2 Brothers: Floyd (Jenny) Knapp of Cedar Springs, Larry (Linda) Knapp of Grand Rapids. 2 Sisters: Shirley (Robert) Hansen of Utah, Lois Knapp of Grand Rapids. 2 Sister in-laws: Geraldine Knapp of Grand Rapids, Barbara Knapp of Coopersville also survive.
He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by: Wife Lois, 1 daughter, Pamela Washburn, 1 granddaughter, Brenda Lieffers-Loss and 1 grandson, Brian Paul Knapp. 5 Brothers: James, Ernol “Budâ€, Norman “Geneâ€, Dallas and Norris.
A Funeral service will be conducted on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 11:00am at Throop Funeral Home of Ravenna.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 09, 2015 at the Throop Funeral Home of Ravenna from 2:00 to 4:00pm and from 6:00 to 8:00pm also 1 hour prior to service on Friday.
