Charles R. "Dick" Fry's Obituary
Mr. Charles R. “Dick” Fry, age 80, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 4, 2014 in Muskegon. He was born on May 4, 1934 in Roscoe, OH to Dean and Marie (Bown) Fry and resided in Muskegon since 1959. Dick was a teacher for Orchard View Schools for 28 years before retiring in 1986, and was a charter member of the Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene. He was also involved with Gideons International, Hospital Chaplaincy Services, COSMOPS, and taught drivers education for 43 years. Dick also enjoyed golfing and bowling, and swimming in the pool. His greatest passions in his life were his Savior, his wife, his family and grandchildren, and the many people he encountered throughout the years. On December 25, 1954 he married the former Pat Seelye, and together spent 59 years together. SURVIVORS include his wife, Pat; 2 children, Dennese (David) DeYoung and Mark Fry both of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Albert (Elsie) Fry of Manchester, OH, Donald (Delsie) Fry and Tom (Betty) Fry both of Coshocton, OH; and sister, Ruth Richarson also of Coshocton, OH. Dick was preceded in death by his parents. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be 11AM Monday at Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene (2270 S Mill Iron Rd. Muskegon, MI. 49442) with Rev. Aaron Gregory officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 & 6-8PM Sunday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100, and also 1 hour prior to the service at church, from 10-11AM. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contributions to Gideons International or the Lakes Community Church will be appreciated.
