Charles Eugene Slater's Obituary
Charles Eugene Slater, age 85, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023 at Lakewood Nursing Home. He was born April 2, 1937 in Moorland Township, MI to Charles and Tressie (Cotterman) Slater. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. On April 5, 1958, he married Joyce L. McCann in Grant and she preceded him in death on July 6, 2022. Eugene worked as a delivery driver for GTE Telephone Company for 28 years and retired in 2003. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church where he volunteered for the Clothes Basket. Survivors include his daughter Beth Marie Slater; and the extended McCann Family. He was preceded in death by his parents and 8 siblings. In keeping with Eugene’s wishes, there will be no services.
