Charles H Steuerwald's Obituary
Mr. Charles H. Steuerwald, age 72, passed away Monday evening, May 13, 2013 at Mercy Hospital following a brief illness. Chuck was born March 22, 1941 in Newton, IA to Philemon and Fidelia (Ogle) Steuerwald and has resided in Muskegon virtually his entire life. He was retired from Bosch Diesel Technology and had previously worked at the Hylift Division of SPX. He was an active member of Calvary Church and was also a member of the NWTF. He enjoyed gardening, was an avid outdoorsman and was a wonderful teacher to family and friends on fixing any and everything. On May 18, 1963 he married the former Gloria DeLong and she survives him along with 4 daughters, Wendy (Chris) Pothoff of Douglasville, GA, Tammy (John, Jr.) Arbogast of Muskegon, Heidi (Don) Shone of Huntington, IN and Heather (Kirk) Sweet of Muskegon; 12 grandchildren, Eric Pothoff, Kathryn (Jason) Vise and Colin Pothoff, April and Anthony Arbogast, Bradley, Nolan and Mary Young, Kirsten, Kamden, Brenna and Breah Sweet; 1 great-granddaughter, Taylor Vise and by 2 sisters, Donna Day and twin-sister, Charlotte Witham. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Delores Groszowski. FUNERAL SERVICES will be held 11AM Friday, May 17, 2013 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.; 6291 S. Harvey Street,Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100), with Pastors Terry Fulk and Bill Rudd officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. VISITATION with Chuck’s family will be 6-8PM Thursday.
