Charles H. Waldo's Obituary
Mr. Charles H. “Chuck” Waldo, age 89, passed away March 2, 2012. He was born on September 14, 1922 to John and Pearl (Parker) Waldo in Fremont, MI. He was a member of Crestwood United Methodist Church. Chuck served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked as a clerk for the Grand Trunk Railroad Company until his retirement in 1984 and then went on to work for Hardware Distributors for 20 years as a valued employee. Chuck was proud to be an “Old Newsboy” in Muskegon and enjoyed watching sports on TV. He was also a member of the Viking Lodge. On October 30, 1943 he married, Ethelyn Peterson and she preceded him in death in 1993. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Janice (Alan) Habitz of Traverse City, John (Sheila) Waldo of White Cloud and Julie (Frank) Smith of Kansas; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; sister-in-law and special friend, Donna Seastrom; sister-in-laws, Jane (Fred) Kruse and Dorothy Schrock. MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Crestwood United Methodist Church (1220 Creston) with Rev. Steve Weinberger officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 6-8 PM Friday at The Sytsema Chapel 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 MEMORIALS to Crestwood United Methodist Church or the Vikings Scholarship Fund would be appreciated. Inurnment will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
