Charles E. Willard "Chuck"'s Obituary
Mr. Charles E. Willard “Chuck”, age 64, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on February 18, 1948 in Muskegon to Robert and Edna (Harvey) Willard, and resided in the area all of his life. Chuck was a Veteran of the US Army, having served his country in the Vietnam War, and belonged to VFW #3195. He worked at SAF Holland, until his retirement in 2008. Chuck was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church, where he volunteered for many food trucks. He also volunteered for United Way, enjoyed golfing, traveling, loved to tell “true stories” and jokes, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family. On November 25, 1967, he married the former Donna Hayes, and together they celebrated 44 years in marriage. SURVIVORS include his wife Donna; 3 children, Robin (Mark) Decker, Charles E. Willard, II “Tyke”, and Heather (William) McGee; 8 grandchildren; sister, Sue (Jim) Snell; and bro, Phil Dixon. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be 2PM Monday at Samuel Lutheran Church (540 Houston, Muskegon) with Rev. Marcy Miller officiating. VISITATION with Chuck’s family will be 2-4 & 6-8PM Sunday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100. Burial will take place in Fruitport Cemetery.
