Charles E. Wilson's Obituary
Charles E. Wilson, age 74, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Mercy Hospital. He was born on September 19, 1947 to Charles and Cora (Wester) Wilson in Grand Haven. Chuck served his country in the U.S. Air Force and the Army National Guard. He had worked as a machinist for Sealed Power for over 40 years in Muskegon. His proudest honor was being a part of the Fruitport Fire Department for over 30 years. He retired in 2010 and to his very last day of life stopped into the Fruitport Fire- Station #2 twice a day for coffee with his fellow firefighters. Chuck also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger days. On May 6, 1972 he married the former Carolynn Doornbos and she survives him along with two children, Charles D. Wilson and Charlia (Robert) Gardner; twin grandsons, Lincoln and Gryphon; and sisters, Cathy (Leonard) Drust and Shirley (Stanley) Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Pearl Wilson. In following Chuck’s final wishes, cremation has taken place and there will not by any services.
