Charles "Charlie" Escareno's Obituary
Mr. Charles “Charlie” Escareno, age 83, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010 in Belding, MI. He was born in Strawn, TX on April 3, 1927 to Panfilo and Isabel (Avina) Escareno. Charlie was a member of Oak-Crest Church of God and was a Salvation Army Volunteer. He enjoyed playing the harmonica and was a talented hand carver. He is survived by 2 brothers, Rueben (Patricia) Escareno and Jesse (Diane) Escareno; 8 sisters, Elia Belmarez, Eva (Evaristo) Vasquez, Nattallina Ortiz, Connie Hanes, Susanna (Alex) Esquivel, Rita Murray, Shirley (Victor) Ornelas and Rose Norconk and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 7 siblings. SERVICES will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at Oak-Crest Church of God with Rev. Mike Prins and Rev. Rick Rogers officiating. VISITATION will be from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210. INTERMENT will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
