Charles "Charlie" Fielstra, Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Charles “Charlie” Fielstra, Jr., age 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday evening, January 23, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Charlie was born October 2, 1929 to Charles and Grace (Dykstra) Fielstra, Sr. in Muskegon, and was a life resident. He was a self-employed plumber, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and was a member of Calvary Bible Church, where he served as an elder. On March 31, 1951 he married Leona M. Force, and she survives him along with 4 children, Tammy (Doug) Adams of Muskegon, Judy (Tim) Heath of Malaysia, Chuck (Patti) Fielstra III of Lansing, Char (Mark) Boertman of Norton Shores; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Bud (Ivy) Fielstra of Muskegon; 1 sister, Elaine (Don) Fuller of Grand Haven. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; 2 sisters, Alice and Berniece. VISITATION at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave. (231) 726-5210 will be from 5-7 PM Thursday evening, and 1 hour prior to the service at church. THE FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 4:00PM Friday at Calvary Bible Church, 4617 Grand Haven Rd., Muskegon, with Pastors Ed Arndt and Gary Ream officiating. Interment will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
