Charles E. Jepsen's Obituary
Mr. Charles Jepsen, age 75, passed away at his home February 2, 2004, in North Muskegon. He was born March 12, 1928 to William and Florence (Gustafson) Jepsen in Grand Haven, MI, and as a young child, moved to Muskegon where he has resided his entire life. On June 3, 1961, he married June Tollenaar in Muskegon. Mr. Jepsen retired in 1993 from Versatile Fabrication where he was a maintenance man. Prior to his work there, he spent many years as a bartender at the Copper Kettle and the Nord Bar. Mr. Jepsen was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church. He was a paratrooper in WWII, and is now a member of the North Muskegon VFW Post 8846, and the American Legion Post 0069. He loved farming, hunting, and fishing, and will be missed by his dog Buddy. SURVIVORS include his wife, June; 5 sisters, Jane Kennedy, Esther VanderVelde, Betty (Robert) Thomas, Wilma Schelske, Helen Fortier; 2 brothers, Clifford “Skip” Jepsen, Richard (Marilyn) Duncan; and many nieces and nephews. He was PRECEDED in death by his parents and 2 brothers, William and Jack Jepsen. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be Thursday, February 5, 2004 at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc, 737 Apple Ave., 231-726-5210, at 1:00PM with visitation from 12:00 to 1:00PM Thursday. Memorials can be made to Hospice of Muskegon-Oceana and to the Salvation Army.
