Charles F. Lyons' Obituary
Mr. Charles F. Lyons, age 75, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2006 at his home. He was born August 26, 1930 in Mason, MI to Harold and Ivy (Watt) Lyons and had resided in the Lansing area for most of his life before coming to Muskegon 15 years ago. Mr. Lyons had worked at the General Motors – Oldsmobile Plant for 26 years, prior to his retirement in 1985. He was a member of Calvary Church, where he belonged to their Pastor’s Prayer Group. Mr. Lyons loved singing and playing the hymns of the church on his piano, and sang in several choral groups. On November 12, 1955 he married the former Marilyn A. Dills in Detroit, MI, and she survives him along with 5 children, Karie L. (James) Brunk of Cadillac, MI, A. Renée Lyons of Lansing, MI, Sarah J. (Scott) Lingenfelter of Wheaton, IL, Evan Charles (Noël) Lyons of Highlands Ranch, CO, Nathan T. Lyons of Green Bay, WI; 2 grandchildren, James Benjamin Brunk III, and Alexander Charles Brunk; 1 brother, Norman L. (Julie) Lyons of Kalamazoo, MI; 1 sister, Marie A. Lyons of Mason, MI; and several nieces, nephews, and precious friends. Mr. Lyons was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers, Robert A. Lyons in 1984 and Harold H. Lyons in 2005. SERVICES will be 1 PM Wednesday at Calvary Church (5873 Kendra) with Pastor Bill Rudd officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Tuesday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231) 759-8565. Private internment will take place in Laketon Twp. Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to Calvary Church or Pray America would be appreciated.
