Charles Henry "Chuck" Baker's Obituary
Mr. Charles Henry Baker, age 79, passed away Sunday morning, December 19, 2010, at a local hospital. He was born February 4, 1931 in Muskegon to William and Henrietta (Cooper) Baker. Charles served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On July 9, 1955, he married the former Beverly Ann Seifers and she survives him. Chuck worked in quality control as a final inspector at Shaw –Walker for 42 years prior to his retirement in 1990. He and his wife were long time members of Fifth Reformed Church, where he had served as deacon. Chuck also enjoyed volunteering at International Aid as well as at his church. He liked fishing and spending time outdoors gardening. In addition to his wife of 55 years, Beverly, he is survived by 4 children, Karen S. (Steve) Ames of Muskegon, Thomas A. Baker of Lake Wylie, SC, Timothy L. (Patrice) of Santa Ana, CA and Sandra K. (Mark) Smith of Muskegon; 4 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11 AM Monday December 27, 2010, at Fifth Reformed Church (2330 Holton Rd.) with Rev. Paul Burmeister officiating. VISITATION with the family will be Sunday afternoon from 2-5 PM at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Fifth Reformed Church or Muskegon Rescue Mission.
