Charles Marion Black's Obituary
Mr. Charles Marion “Charley” Black, age 72, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at Knollview Nursing Center. He was born April 4, 1934 in Muskegon to Colon and Clara (Aurich) Black and lived most of his life in the area. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement in 1992, he worked over 30 years as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. He enjoyed watching sports, especially Big Reds Football. On February 22, 1986, he married the former Patsy Mathis and she survives him along with 2 daughters, Tricia (Jim) Westaff and Angela Black; 6 step-children, Robert Lasko, Paul (Thawin) Lasko, Donna Lewandowski, Debbie (Keith) Burnam, Judy (William) Thies, Jim Lasko; 3 grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, and 16 step-great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Colon (Carmen) Black; and 1 sister, Barb (Phil) Schulist. GRAVESIDE SERVICES will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday at Restlawn Cemetery with Pastor Lowell Anderson officiating. Honorary Military Rites will be offered by the Muskegon County Council of Veterans.
