We met Betty and
Augie at the Lawernce School reunion.
It was nice to see both of you.

I read about Chuck in the Grand Haven tribune from Clifornia.
We spent a lot of time with Chuck's family while growing up (Joe and Nathalie Schmidt's family)
Betty showed me how to put two Hollyhocks together and make a doll. Thanks for that Betty.
Heaven got a very sepcial person today and his name was Chuck Swanson.

I heard about Chuck at the Lawrence School Reunion from Russell, Augie and Betty, so sorry to hear about him - he will be in a better place now. To Charlie's Family:

I want to let you all know that Charlie was, hands down, one of the finest men that I knew during my growing up years at Lakeshore Baptist Church. He was the best Sunday School teacher I had during all my years there, and showed a genuine interest in me and all the other youth in the church. I also recall his considerably athletic giftedness, esp. on the baseball diamond; yet he never had the least bit of arrogance about his gifts in this area.

Though I lost track of Charlie during my wife and my many years living out of state during my years with an oil company, I have not forgot about the genuine faith and sincerity of this Godly man. I look forward to seeing Charlie in Heaven, and am confident that he will hear those wonderful words: "Well done, though good and faithful servant".

Dear Char,

What a privilege it's been for me to enjoy time spent with Chuck these past months. It was great to learn more about him through your son's words shared at the funeral. Perhaps we could enjoy coffee or lunch when you have a bit of free time.

Can you believe it? My husband served in the naval reserve at the same time as Chuck did.

You did such a remarkable job in caring for Chuck through difficult times; a wonderful roll model you've been.
