Mrs. Charlotte Elaine Meloche's Obituary
Mrs. Charlotte Elaine Meloche, age 85, passed away unexpectedly Saturday evening, August 13, 2016. Charlotte was born July 18, 1931 to Charles and Theresa (Klevering) Hoff in Whitehall. On December 5, 1952 she married her true love, Richard Leo Meloche, who preceded her in death on July 11, 1999. We now celebrate their reunion as one. Char was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church for many years, she loved sharing her joy, talent, and conversations with her quilting friends. She also served for several years on the board of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Foundation and the Fellowship Ministry. Char was a wonderful loving wife and mother who loved sewing, reading, crossword puzzles, and her fondness of the Sunday comics that matched her quick wit. She spent her days enjoying special moments and family filled holidays. Char had great individual bonds with each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Charlotte was loved and will be greatly missed by her children, Richard P. Meloche of Muskegon, Deborah (Ken) McCarthy of Ludington, Bruce (Rhonda) Meloche of Norton Shores, Brian (Laura) Meloche of Grand Haven, and Sandra (Scott) Hutchins of Twin Lake; 13 grandchildren, Chad, Stacey, Paul, Sarah, Justin, Greg, Katie, Jordan, Jessica, Chelsea, Theresa, Amanda, and Rebecca; 20 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews including her favorite niece, Maralee Gorter-Reu. Char was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Gelderloos; and her brothers, Ron and Kenneth Hoff. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11 AM Thursday, August 18, 2016, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1260 Whitehall Road, with her favorite Pastor Bill Uetricht officiating. VISITATION will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, 231 798-1100, and one hour prior to the service (10-11 AM) at the church. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
