Charlotte I. Norkus' Obituary
Mrs. Charlotte I. Norkus, age 83, died Monday, July 11, 2005. She was born in Manistee, MI on November 8, 1921 to Carl & Gladys (Land) Townsend, and had resided in the Warren, MI for most of her life before moving to the Muskegon area in 1993. Mrs. Norkus attended Dalton Baptist Church, and loved traveling. She had worked at Upjohn/Smith Kline Beecham Group for 10 years, retiring in 1986. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Donovan “Don” (Mary Ann) Wallace of Dalton Twp., Letha (Wayne) Stewart of Bay Minette, AL, and Philip (Lorna) Norkus of Richmond, MI; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Clarence “Jay” (Joyce) Townsend of Ocala, FL, Milo (Betty) Townsend of Bloomington, MN; 3 sisters, Jeri Dyson, Shirley Lidtke, and Letha (Ken) Gillespie all of Manistee. SERVICES will be 11 AM Friday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 with Rev. Eric Coulon officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday. Burial will take place in East Dalton Oakhill Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to Dalton Baptist Church would be appreciated.
