Mrs. Charrae Adele Vulgaris VanDoorne's Obituary
Mrs. Charrae Adele (Garton) Vulgaris VanDoorne, age 71, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013 at Sanctuary of the Shores. She was born October 8, 1941 in Muskegon, MI to Paul and Marianne (Engel) Garton and lived in the area most of her life. On June 24, 1961, She married Constantine “Gus” Vulgaris in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on October 7, 2003. She later married Richard VanDoorne in Grand Haven and he survives her. She was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and was a lifetime patron. Charrae was also active with the Lions Club. SURVIVORS include her husband, Richard; 4 children, Laura (John) Wright, Chris (Pat) Vulgaris, John Vulgaris, Anthony Vulgaris; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Helen Vulgaris; 2 brothers, Paul (Arlene) Garton, Dave Garton; 1 sister, Candice (Gene) Giangacomo; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and 1 sister, Paula Meloche. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 26, 2013 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church (185 E. Pontaluna Road) with Father Steve VanBronkhorst presiding. INTERMENT will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION will be held 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM Thursday at the Church. The Trisagion Service will be held 6:30 PM Thursday at the Church. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the family. Arrangements handled by The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S.
