Cheryl Ann "Cherrie, Sissy" Barr's Obituary
Cheryl Ann Barr, age 67, affectionately known as Cherrie or Sissy, passed away April 26, 2026 at her home in Muskegon. She was born on October 19, 1958 in Painesville, OH to Walter and Rosalie Stanley Kelley. Cherrie was a kind, loving soul who, during her years as a manager at Joe’s Crab Shack and in the service industry, became a mother figure to many. She formed lasting bonds with the people she worked with, many of whom lovingly called her Mom, a role she cherished deeply. Even in her final days, she was complimenting the medical staff and showing gratitude with words as well as fresh donuts. She had an appreciation for nature, especially hummingbirds, and spent countless days making candies and baked goods while raising her family. She had a beautiful singing voice and was often heard singing around the house, creating a home filled with warmth and music. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, friends, family, and granddogs with all of her heart and always made them feel loved and special. Survivors include her loving husband, Thad “TJ” Barr; 3 daughters, Angel (Bobby), Kat (Chris), and Ashley; 4 grandchildren, Dylan, Zach, Lindsay, Eva’Lynn; 2 great grandchildren; siblings, Ken, Randy, Jim, Nancy, Colleen; countless nieces, nephews, and cousins; lifelong honorary sister, Laura (Bo); and close friend, Kathy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Rosalie Robinson and Walter Kelley; her siblings, Brenda, Vickie, Robert, and Robbie; her granddaughter, Amaya; and her dog, Sassy. A Celebration of Life for Cherrie will be held 11am-3pm Sunday, August 2, 2026 at 2233 Temple Street, Muskegon, MI 49444. Arrangements handled by The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442. Sign the online guestbook at https://www.sytsemafh.com
