Mrs. Cheryl Lynn Dykstra's Obituary
Mrs. Cheryl L. Dykstra (Dood), 61, went to be with her Lord and Savior early Friday morning, January 20, 2017 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 30, 1955 to Claude and Nancy (Jarvis) Dood in Muskegon. Cheryl loved volunteering, being around people, serving as a foster parent, and watching her grandchildren. On September 20, 2008 Cheryl married Douglas J. Dykstra, and he survives her along with her children, Jacklyn (Patrick) Ritsema, Rebecca (Jared) Krick, Brian (Jessica) Sneller, Chad (Jana) Sneller, Benjamin Dykstra, Rebecca Dykstra; grandchildren, Jordan, Jacob, Noah, Grace, Emily, Oliver, Gabriel, Leah, Parker, Mae, and Lacey; her mother, Nancy Dood; brother, George (Linda) Dood; sister, Susan (Dennis) Deubner. She was preceded in death by her father, Claude Dood, and her brother, David Dood. A service to remember and celebrate Cheryl’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 28, at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday evening, January 27, from 6-8 PM, and 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday. You may visit the family’s online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com. Contributions in Cheryl’s memory may be made to Holland Hospice. Cheryl brought love, life, laughter, and acceptance. Her love for the disabled, elderly, broken, and anyone she met was priceless. The most important thing she wanted in life was for her children and grandchildren to share her faith in Jesus.
