Cheryl A. Huttenga's Obituary
Cheryl A. Huttenga, 74, of Norton Shores, Michigan passed away January 8, 2019 at home. She was born in Ozark, Alabama on December 30, 1944 to Jacob and Elizabeth (Kaechele) Huttenga. She graduated from Muskegon High School in 1963 and went on to pursue her teaching degree at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. She was married to William Logg. He preceded her in death in 2001. She worked for Muskegon Public Schools until her retirement in 2000. She was a special education teacher at Nims and Moon Elementaries and Muskegon High School and dedicated her whole life to children with special needs. She loved traveling especially to Arizona and could often be found in her favorite casino in Manistee. She was an active member and past president of Delta Kappa Gamma teachers sorority. She is survived by her son, Andrew Logg from Grand Rapids; her stepdaughter, Kari (Tim) Shields of Toronto, Canada; her sisters, Marcia (Ken) Holst of Caledonia, Michigan, Jane (Brian) Foy of Davenport, Iowa; grandson, Keenan Wakefield of Muskegon and numerous nephews and a niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Betty Huttenga, her sister Christine Huttenga and a niece Alecia Holst and a stepdaughter Shelly Logg. MEMORIAL SERVICES will be 10:30 AM Saturday, January 12, 2019 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 with Pastor John H. Brown officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service, from 9:30-10:30AM.
