Cheryl A. Sladick's Obituary
Mrs. Cheryl A. Sladick, age 69, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 4, 2021 in Grand Rapids following a long illness. She was born on May 8, 1952 to Joseph and Donna (Endres) Friday in Muskegon. A lifelong resident of the area, Cheryl married Terry Sladick on January 13, 1984 and he survives her. During their 37 wonderful years spent together, Cheryl and Terry raised four children in Muskegon. Cheryl was a member of the first class to graduate from the Nursing Program at Muskegon Community College. She was a caring and dedicated nurse, working at Muskegon General Hospital and later at DaVita Kidney Care before retiring in 2013. Cheryl and Terry were members of Trinity Lutheran Church where Cheryl was active in Bible Study. She volunteered with Muskegon County Right to Life and Muskegon County Pregnancy Services. Over the years, Cheryl always loved to be surrounded with her faithful dogs, Zebulon, Elam, Seth and Fiona. Cheryl loved her family and the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be dearly missed by her husband, Terry; children, Kim (Shawn) Josephson, Pam Sladick, Neil (Abigayle) Sladick, and Chad Sladick; six grandchildren, Jacob Sladick, Hailey Sladick, Orion Sladick, Joshua Edmondson, Jami (Dave) Funk, and Sloan Sladick; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ron (Sandra) Friday, Larry (Rita) Friday, Tom (Pat) Friday, Rich (Nancy) Friday, and Mike Friday; sister, Pat (Mike) Bray; and many nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 15 at Trinity Lutheran Church (3225 Roosevelt Rd., Muskegon, 49441). Visitation with the family will be from 4-7PM, Tuesday, September 14 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444, and one hour prior to the service, from 10-11:00AM at church. Memorial contributions to the National Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
