Cheryl Lynn Veltman's Obituary
Cheryl Lynn Veltman, age 73, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at The Leila and Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence. She was born May 12, 1951, to Donald and Elizabeth (Galoit) Siegel, in Muskegon, MI. She attended Muskegon Catholic Central High School and graduated in 1969. On July 9, 1983, she married Steve Veltman. Cheryl was a Loan Officer at Muskegon Federal Bank for a time and then was the Executive Secretary at Gospel Communications for over 20 years.
Cheryl enjoyed cooking, was a great ice skater and liked to cross country ski. She was also very involved with Pampered Chef and loved being a local consultant. Cheryl was very active at Evanston Avenue Church and played piano for the Praise Team.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Steve; stepdaughter, Kim Sawyer; step-grandchildren, Steven and Jacob Sawyer; sister-in-law, Trudy Veltman and 2 brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Roxanne Jenkins; and brother-in-law, Richard Veltman.
A FUNERAL SERVICE will be Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 11 AM at Evanston Avenue Church (1188 Evanston Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442, with VISITATION with the family 1 hour prior to the service. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS in honor of Cheryl may be directed to The Leila and Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence.
