Cheryl L. Wright's Obituary
Cheryl L. “Sherrie” Wright, age 61, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 21, 2023, in Muskegon. She was born to Roy and Joanne (Burkall) Wright, and was a lifelong resident of the area. A 1980 graduate of Muskegon High School, Sherrie was employed by GE Aviation for over 24 years. Sherrie was a fun spirited soul, enjoying snowmobiling and boating with family. She was also a seasonal camper at Fisherman’s Landing in Muskegon. Sherrie had incredible artistic talent. She loved doing and making crafts, and planning and designing events like weddings. SURVIVORS include three siblings, Cindy (Philip) Kowalski, Rayleen (Melvin) Poindexter, and Kevin (Kay) Wright; many nieces and nephews; her fiancés sons, Tom Kleyn, Joey (Jordan) Kleyn, and her grand babies, Peyton, Kaiden, Amiya and Jensen. Sherrie was preceded in death by her mother, Joanne Wright; her father, Roy Wright; and fiancé, Paul Kleyn. A CELEBRATION OF LIFE for Sherrie will be Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 11 AM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444, (231) 798-1100, with Pastor Ben Jansen officiating. VISITATION will be 5-7 PM Tuesday evening, January 9, 2024, and one hour prior to the Wednesday service. A private burial with family will take place at Fruitport Pine Hill Cemetery. Memorial Contributions in Sherrie’s name to Trinity Health Johnson Family Cancer Center will be appreciated.
