Chester "Chet" Kordecki's Obituary
Mr. Chester M. Kordecki Sr., age 77, passed quietly from this world Saturday morning, August 5, 2006, at his home. Chet was born July 14, 1929, in Muskegon, to Michael and Mary (Boguszewicz) Kordecki. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On April 17, 1953, he married the former Marie Francis Fenner in Greenville, MI. Chet owned and operated Chet’s Electric for over 30 years. Chet was a member of Lake Harbor United Methodist Church, as well as a member of the Grand Haven American Legion Post 28. Chet was a master woodworker, gardener, and enjoyed traveling and playing golf. He is SURVIVED by his wife of 53 years, Marie; 4 children, Chester Michael (Lisa) Kordecki Jr. of Norton Shores, Christopher Kordecki of Cary, NC, Steven (Lynn) Kordecki of Norton Shores, and David (Anita) Kordecki of Austin TX; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grand daughter; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11AM Thursday, August 10, 2006, at Lake Harbor United Methodist Church (4861 Henry St.) with Kristin Aardema Faigh officiating. VISITATION with the family 1 hour prior to the service (10-11:00 AM). MILITARY RITES will be afforded by the American Legion Post 28.
