Christina S. Danigelis Dault Encelewski's Obituary
Christina S. Danigelis Dault Encelewski, age 93 passed away peacefully on December 10, 2022. Christina was born in Muskegon, MI on September 18, 1929, to Soterios (Samuel) and Anastasia (Angelopoulos) Danigelis. Christina was the third of four children. The hard-working family owned the Corner Food Market. As Christina turned sixteen, her family suffered the death of her father. She and her sister Aphrodite worked in the store, helped their mother tend to their young brother Alex, while older brother George was overseas serving his country in World War II. On August 22, 1954, she married Clifford Dault and started a family. She successfully managed the store, then Community Food & Beverage with her brother and sister for fifty years, retiring in1994. On October 17,1993, she married the late George Encelewski. Christina’s interests were considerable, loving nature, music, dancing, reading, writing, and traveling. She always kept in touch with those near and far, keeping our extended family close. Of all her loves, her family and church came first. She was a dedicated and loving daughter, wife, sister, mother, aunt, nouna, Yiayia, great-Yiayia, neighbor and friend. She was a wonderful example to her children and grandchildren, living her faith, displaying a robust work ethic, and a strength of character second to none. Her priorities were always her family and her church. Christina was a lifelong member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. During her years in the church Christina served as a Sunday school, director, teacher, devoted choir member and someone who was always willing to volunteer wherever she was needed. She was very active in organizations associated with the church, The Daughter’s of Penelope and the Ladies Philoptochos Society. In 2017 Christina was presented a Testimony of Appreciation by the Metropolitan of Detroit for a lifetime of distinguished service to her church. She was always the first to introduce herself to visitors or new attendees, making sure they felt acknowledged and welcome. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Kathy (Tim) Wahlers, Karen (Andy) Hahn Hanichen and Diane (Jim) Burnett; 7 grandchildren, Lenee (Gabriel) Bien-Willner, William (Lisa) Wahlers, Anastasia Hahn, Ian Hahn, Jack (Natalie) Wahlers, Christina Burnett and John Burnett; 8 Great Grandchildren, Asher Samuel, Phoebe, Emery, Lena, Adeline, Lincoln, Colette, Leo and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, George and Alexander, sister Aphrodite, husband George Encelewski, son-in-law Elmo, and her beloved son, Samuel. The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the caregiving staff at Seminole Shores along with staff at Gentiva (Kindred) Hospice.
