Christine H. Ahearn's Obituary
Christine H. Ahearn passed away May 8, 2021 in Muskegon. She was born to Peter J. and Dorothea C. (Ziegler) Kammers in Hart, MI and lived most of her life in the Muskegon area. She was a longtime communicant of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. She had worked as a nurse’s aide at the Hume Home, and enjoyed reading and dancing. She married Robert H. Ahearn in 1940 and he preceded her in death on September 9, 1957. Survivors include 3 children: Shireen Ahearn, Patricia (Bill W. Hibbs) Umlor, Mike (Joni) Ahearn; daughter-in-law: Marcia Ahearn; several grand and great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Marcella Kammers. A special thanks to grandson, Brian, for the care he gave his grandmother, and being able to take her to confession using her wheelchair. She was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter Kathleen Kandalec, and sons Tom and Bob Ahearn. A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 13, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Masks are required by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441.
