Christine E. Sayas' Obituary
Christine E. Sayas, age 61, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 8, 1961, to Harold and Marlene Cady. She graduated from Orchard View High School class of 1979. Christine was a dedicated employee of ASAP Towing & Recovery for 25 years where she worked as a dispatcher. On June 15, 1997, she married the love of her life, David Sayas in Muskegon, MI in the front yard of her mother’s-in-law home. They cherished many years full of love and laughter. Christine had a generous heart and the willingness to help others in need. She was always lending a helping hand and looking out for the ones she loved. She loved to press her luck at the casino or playing BINGO. She also had a passion for music and loved dancing all night at concerts. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, loving mother, doting grandma, wonderful sister and dear friend to many. Christine was known to be an honest woman, who told it like it was, yet she had the ability to easily fill a room with laughter. Her radiant smile and unconditional love will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children, Dale Bazzett, Lucas MacOwan Sr., Tim Lamb Jr., Nick (Shannon Basarabski) Higgins, Keith Higgins and Danny Jo (Martin Dempkey) MacOwan; grandchildren, Lucas MacOwan Jr., James MacOwan and Charlie Dempkey; sisters, Connie, Brenda, Gail and Melody (Scott); very dear family friend, Adam (Star Wierengo) Colbath; and mother of her grandchildren, Lucas Jr. and James, Dezaray Hock. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold (Marlene) Cady; granddaughter, Natalie Dempkey; and mother-in-law, Carol Joy Chvala. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Christine’s honor can be directed to the Make-A-Wish Foundation the Muskegon Chapter.
