Christine Van Eck's Obituary
Mrs. Christine Van Eck, age 94, of Grand Haven passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at home. She was born December 19, 1927, in Albany, New York to William and Beatrice (Dow) Pindar. On December 24, 1949, she married Marvin Van Eck and he preceded her in death in 1998.
Christine was a member of Fellowship Reformed and a former member of Trinity Reformed Church, where she was a part of the Women’s Guild. She was an elementary teacher for 30 years with Holland Public Schools and loved her job and students! She enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Bill and Marianne Van Eck; grandchildren: Rachel Van Eck, Moses (Stephanie) Fetters, Amaris (Isley) West and Ananta (Lillie) Fetters; great-grandchildren: Elizbeth Hassell, Amaya and Elliot Fetters, Raymond and Mason Parks, Amira and Atiya West, Nahlia Fetters. She was preceded in death by her daughter Cynthia Fetters, grandson, Cyprian Fetters; and brother, Bill (Doris) Pindar.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 8, 2022, at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave, Grand Haven, MI 49417. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
