I was fortunate to have grown up neighbors to the Anderson's in the late 80's and 90's. Erik was my childhood best friend and his family was like a second one. I spent a lot of time at the Anderson's back then. Some fond memories of their home, were eating potato knishes and Nathan's hot dogs, looking at Pastor Chris' Brooklyn Dodgers memorabilia, and marveling at his wonderful calligraphy. Also, had some great experiences with the Youth Group trip to South Dakota and the fishing/camping to Canada. A great mentor Pastor Chris truly was, that showed real tolerance, compassion, and wisdom. Thanks Mr. Anderson and family for all the great memories.

Pastor Chris was a friend, a mentor, and a great leader in keeping the memory of the Holocaust alive and fighting antisemitism. The Muskegon community is better because he served there. He leaves a tremendous legacy and will be deeply missed.

Pr Chris was a wonderful inspiration to the communities he served in the Muskegon area. Can't help but to smell the aroma of warm fresh baked bread that he crafted for so many church events,and hear his joyful laughter. Pr. Chris and his wisdom will be missed. I have only great memories of Pastor Chris as my pastor and friend……..a most memorable time was when he brought one of his summer interns to my River home, enjoyed riding the trails on my golf cart and sharing lunch.

Chris was my not only my Pastor, he was my friend as well. He always teased me & would called me the old lady in his life as I was 5 months older than him. He lead Samuel for so many years & even came back when we needed him. That's who he was! On his last Sunday at Samuel the second time he baptized my great granddaughter Sage! A memory I will treaure. My love & prayers are with Barb & the family💕

Condolences to Barb Anderson and family. Pastor Chris was missed went he retired from Samuel Lutheran church in Nelson neighborhood. He was truly like family, he always invited my daughter to be a part of the youth activities. The trip to South Dakota was truly an experience for all of them . To help other families. Next the trip to New Orleans. Her learning braille along with Karen. Most of all the joy on many faces at Christmas time. ( food baskets and toys for tots). We will have these memories forever may you RIP 💞
