Christopher J. Boes' Obituary
Mr. Christopher J. Boes, age 28, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 after fighting brain cancer for almost 5 years. He was born on September 10, 1985 in Muskegon to James and Debra (Bos) Boes. Chris was a graduate of North Muskegon High School, Muskegon Community College, and recently earned his Bachelors Degree from Western Michigan University. He always led by example and was an inspiration to all who witnessed this journey fighting the tumor that finally took his life. Chris was a courageous young man who faced multiple challenges head on in his life. He enjoyed golf, watching his favorite Detroit Tigers, Red Wings and Michigan football. His number one goal when diagnosed in July of 2009, was to earn his Political Science degree at WMU. Despite one setback after another, he remained resolute and reached that goal with a special private graduation ceremony from WMU in December of 2013. Chris was an Eagle Scout, receiving various awards in scouting, and was embraced by the wonderful congregation at Community United Methodist Church in North Muskegon. He was involved with Youth Group, Champion High Power Rocket Program, and Mission Trips. He was also very involved with the Relay for Life while attending WMU. Chris is survived by his parents, James and Debra Boes, brother, Matt (Sarah); sister, Kelli; grandmothers, Ardis Bos and Shirley Boes of Muskegon; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. Chris was preceded in death by Grandfathers Clifford Bos and Allen Boes. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be 2PM Saturday at Community United Methodist Church with Rev. Phillip Friedrick officiating.
