Christopher "Chris" A. Blackmer's Obituary
Christopher A. “Chris” Blackmer, age 52, passed away of natural causes on Friday, November 30, 2018 in Muskegon. He was born on March 4, 1966 in Muskegon to Angus and Marilyn (Leonard) Blackmer and resided in the Muskegon area his entire life. Chris was a motocross dad, who coached for his son Christopher’s, Team Blackmer, #53 LiL’C. He also was an avid football fan, and enjoyed coaching for the Beach Youth Football League for many years. SURVIVORS include his son, Christopher; step-children, Samantha and Zachary Chase; mother, Marilyn Blackmer; brother, Michael (Sandra) Blackmer; sister, Karen (Darrell) VanderKooi; fiancée, Kim Sawyer; mother of the children, Amy Blackmer; and many cherished nieces and nephews. Chris was preceded in death by his father, Angus Blackmer; and brother, Tim Blackmer. VISITATION with the family will be 3-6 PM Sunday, December 9, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 1PM Monday, December 10, 2018 also at the funeral home.
