Cindy Lee Jones' Obituary
Cindy Lee Jones was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her spirit departed this world on July 3, 2024, at age 72, and now we are consoled knowing that she is with God everlasting.
She was born to Gene and Violet VanStrate on June 16, 1952, in Seattle, WA. After moving to Spring Lake, MI as a young child she attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from Spring Lake High School along with her three brothers, Tim (Patty), Scott (Lisa), and Matt (Amy) VanStrate. Cindy married Rich Jones of Spring Lake as she attended Muskegon Community College. Cindy gained three brothers-in-law Doug, Craig (Yvette), and Don (Nykky) Jones. Cindy and Rich had two children, Alexandra Fox and Quintin Jones, whom she loved too no bound and provided an amazing life. Cindy was blessed with her family as it grew to include daughter-in-law, Laura Jones, son-in-law, Dave Fox; along with six grandchildren, Indiana, Anabel, Luciana, Penelope, Santiago Jones, and Wilhelmina Fox, whom she all cherished dearly. She is preceded in death by her father, Eugene VanStrate, fathers-in-law, Albert Deal and Richmond T. Jones, Mother-in-law Connie Deal and special brother-in-law, Douglas Jones.
Cindy was fortunate to live a great family-oriented life that included vacations and travel both domestic and internationally, boating, motorcycling, enjoying a life with pets, having wonderful friends, and always loving her family. She loved spending time in Northern Michigan at Glen Lake and most recently Crystal Lake in Beulah. She did an exceptional job as a stay-at-home mom until her children left the house, then she filled her time with traveling to visit her children in Florida as well as working at Harborfront Hospital for Animals in Spring Lake. She enjoyed her work and her play as life was ever-changing as the years passed. Cindy and Rich celebrated 50 glorious years of marriage this year. She cherished her family and friends with such love and knew that someday God would summon for her as He does for all.
We are proud and honored to devote a public funeral service for Cindy Jones to celebrate her life that she shared with many and to honor God’s wish to have her with Him eternally. A MEMORIAL MASS will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 12, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (406 E. Savidge, Spring Lake, MI 49456).
