Clara E. "Velma" Sutherland's Obituary
Mrs. Clara E. “Velma” Sutherland, age 92, died Sunday afternoon, December 28, 2003. She was born November 6, 1911 in Wisner, MI to Elmer and Julia (MacPherson) Johnson and had lived in the Muskegon area since 1954. Mrs. Sutherland was a member of the Community United Methodist Church. On July 26, 1928, she married Donald Sutherland in Berkley, MI and he preceded her in death on July 12, 1986. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Albert (Joyce) Sutherland of Monroe, MI, Drusilla (Kenneth) McMillan of N. Muskegon; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Amy Beach of Rose City, MI; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert Sutherland; brother, Ernest Johnson; and sister, Amber Nettles. SERVICES will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at
Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.

with her grandson, Fr. Clifford McMillan and Dr. Glenn M. Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Laketon Twp. Cemetery. VISITATION will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Community United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
