Clarajane "Cj" Middlecamp's Obituary
Surrounded by her family, Clarajane “Cj” Middlecamp, went home to be with her Father and Savior on Saturday, October 8, 2016. She was born November 14, 1938 in Muskegon to Mitchell and Clarissa Lappo.
Cj was a blessing to everyone she met. A loving mother of four, Cj put God and family above all else. She loved nature, sunsets on Lake Michigan and all animals, especially her beloved Pookie. Cj cherished her connection with the community of friends she made from India, as well as those from Oceana County where her cottage is. Cj possessed a green thumb that showed in her gardens where she meticulously created colorful works of art.
Cj knew that hard work paid off; she worked with her parents Mitch and Clara as they built the family business, Lappo Lumber Company from a small sawmill operation to one of West Michigan’s largest and most successful lumberyards.
Clarajane was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her children, Alyson Middlecamp, Seth (Kim Jonker) Middlecamp, Lisa (David) Middlecamp-Lowder, Wendy (Brian) Thomas and Ashutosh Chaudhari; her grandchildren, Seth Middlecamp II, Destiny (Joseph) Wallace, Zoey, Meghan and Natali Thomas; and great grandchildren, Anne, Liam and Matthew, special nieces Mona and Nina. Cj also leaves behind many family and friends whose love meant the world to her.
FUNERAL SERVICES for Cj will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Fruitport Congregational Church, 9 S. Eighth St., Fruitport, MI 49415, with Pastor Don Wood officiating. VISITATION with Clarajane’s family with be from 2:30 – 4:00 PM and 5:30 – 7:00 PM Wednesday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. 231 798-1100.
