Clarissa D. Kroeze's Obituary
Mrs. Clarissa D. Kroeze, age 94, went to be with her Lord, Saturday morning, January 30, 2010 in Spring Lake. She was born May 14, 1915 in Muskegon to John and Dora (Hamm) Dick and had been a life resident. Mrs. Kroeze worked for Daniel’s Office Supply and the family business, Kroeze Fyr-Fyter, before retiring. She was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church, belonged to its Friendship Circle, Dorcas Circle, Hearts and Hands, and had also been a Sunday School teacher for 40 years. Mrs. Kroeze also volunteered her time at Hackley Hospital in the medical library and the hospital auxiliary for 50 years. In her spare time, she loved to knit. On October 27, 1955, she married Peter J. Kroeze in Zutphen, MI and he preceded her in death on July 11, 1986. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Joan (Wayne) Bishop, Janet (Rick) Dethloff both of Norton Shores; 5 grandchildren, Randy (Pam) Bishop, Linda (Steve) Schuring, Kevin (Kristen) Dethloff, Brian (Rona) Dethloff, Suzanne (David Lattin) Dethloff; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, John W. (Jacqueline) Dick of Muskegon; brothers-in-law, Harvey (Jeanne) Poel, Gordon (Ruth) Poel, Clyde (Jeanne) Kinkema; sister-in-law, Fran Poel; special people in her life, Lois Libby, Louise Ypema, Jayne Fifiolt; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Bernice Oosting. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Calvin Christian Reformed Church with Rev. John Rop officiating. Burial will be in Norton Cemetery. VISITATION will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100. MEMORIALS to the Calvin Christian Reformed Church Memorial Fund or the Heartwood Lodge Hospice House will be appreciated.
