Mr. Claude Clyde Beatty's Obituary
Mr. Claude Beatty, age 81, passed away Friday evening, March 20, 2015. Claude was born February 6, 1934, in Battle Creek, Michigan to Willard and Hazel Mae (Reeves) and has spent the last 60 years in this area. Claude “Clyde” married the former Kay Frances Hodson and she preceded him in death on October 6, 1981. On May 21, 1983 he married the former Dawn Hammond and she survives him. Claude worked with VB Manufacturing for 45 years prior to his retirement in 1996. Earlier in his career, he had worked at CWC. Claude volunteered his time teaching CPR for the American Red Cross. In his youth, Clyde was an amateur boxer. Throughout his life He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and spending time with his family. In addition to Dawn, his wife of 31years, Claude is survived by his children, Rebecca Provatas and William Beatty, both of Muskegon, Steven Beatty and Robert Therrian, both of Coldwater; McKenna Rae Provatas and several other grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by brothers, George and Lyle; sisters, Kathleen and Mary Jean; and his parents. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, March 26, 2015, at the Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Frank Hatfield officiating. VISITATION will be Wednesday from 6-8 PM and Thursday morning, 1 hour prior to the service. INTERMENT will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
