Claude J. "Butch" Butcher's Obituary
Claude J. “Butch” Butcher, age 94, passed away Monday, February 4, 2019 at his daughter’s home in Muskegon. He was born January 1, 1925 in Lansing to Claude W. and Flora (Lammon) Butcher and was a life resident of Lansing. He graduated from Lansing Eastern High School. Butch was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and served during WW II 1942-45. On August 24, 1957, he married the former Amanda Kay Stuart in Lansing. Butch worked 43 years as a lathe operator for Oldsmobile-General Motors Corp. and retired in 1990. He enjoyed photography and taking care of his home especially working outside in his yard. Butch and Kay traveled extensively in their RV to all 50 United States and the Provinces of Canada. They also enjoyed their cottage on Holland Lake. He will be greatly missed. SURVIVORS include his wife, Amanda Kay Butcher of Lansing and his daughter, Mary (Steve) Trautner of Norton Shores. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
