Claude M. Dood's Obituary
Mr. Claude M. Dood, age 83, went to be with his Lord on Friday, December 31, 2010. He was born on May 26, 1927 to John and Anna (DeKoning) in Muskegon. Mr. Dood was a member of First Christian Reformed Church and had been active in the church council and cadets for many years. He worked for Shaw-Walker as a printer prior to his retirement in 1988. Mr. Dood served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Navy. On March 26, 1949 he married Nancy Jarvis and she survives him along with 3 children, George (Linda) Dood, Sue (Dennis) Deubner and Cheryl (Doug) Dykstra; 13 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Gerald (Phyllis) Dood and John Dood; sister-in-law, Gladys Dood and brother-in-law, Robert (Brooksie) Jarvis. His son, David Dood and brother, Jacob Dood, preceded him in death. FUNERAL SERVICE will take place 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Mr. Peter Staal officiating. VISITATION will be Monday 2-4 and 6-8PM at the funeral home. MEMORIALS to the Holland Rescue Mission or V.N.S. Hospice would be appreciated. Burial will take place at Reeman Cemetery.
