Clavera L. VanderWall's Obituary
Mrs. Clavera L. VanderWall, 85, passed away Monday evening, June 28, 2010. Born August 12, 1924 to Fredrick A. and Josephine (Hartgerink) Towner, she married Marvin VanderWall in 1958. Mr. and Mrs. VanderWall owned and operated the Alpena Floral in Alpena for several years before returning to Muskegon. While living in Alpena, Mrs. VanderWall was a charter member of the Alpena Zonta Club. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Muskegon, and was an avid bridge player and helped start the Orchard View Seniors Bridge Group. Her SURVIVORS include her children: Allyson (James) Howard of Spring Lake, Wayne VanderWall and Douglas (Tina) VanderWall both of Grand Haven, Janice “Jan” VanderWall-Zier of Edgewood, NM, and Bruce (Patti) VanderWall of Hamilton, MI; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews in New York. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin in 1975, a granddaughter, Diane VanderWall, and a half-sister, Jennie Bell Maicus. MEMORIAL SERVICES for Mrs. VanderWall will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, July 1, 2010 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Bill Uetricht officiating and interment in Lake Forest Cemetery in Grand Haven. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service (10-11 AM) Thursday at the church.
