Cleland Pfhistner's Obituary
Mr. Cleland “Clete” Pfhistner Sr. passed away Sunday, March 27, 2005, at a local hospital. Mr. Pfhistner was born on May 20, 1918 in Big Rapids, MI to Charles and Martha (Seamon) Pfhistner. On February 6, 1937, he married the former Helen Symon. She preceded him in death on September 30, 1992. Clete was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where he had served on the church board in the past. He was employed for 35 years as a truck driver for L&L Jiroch Company prior to his retirement in 1980. Clete enjoyed playing euchre and cribbage, could be found scouring the flea markets and was always selling and buying cars. Clete is survived by his son, Cleland “Butch” Pfhistner Jr. of Muskegon; his daughter Evelyn “Vonny”(Michael) Murphy Sr. of Muskegon; 3 grandchildren, Michael Murphy Jr., Erika (Jimmy) Murphy and Thomas Murphy Sr.; 3 great-grandchildren, Michael D.C. Murphy, Ryan and Justin Rautanen; 1 brother, Herman (Dorothy) Pfhistner of North Muskegon, numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend, Jeanne Essenberg. Clete was also preceded in death by 1 son, Ricky Lynn; daughter-in-law, Beverly Pfhistner; 4 sisters and 5 brothers. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2005, 1:00 PM at
